ADA compliance isn't just a checkbox - it requires real planning, the right materials, and a build process that holds up long-term. A lot of contractors will pour a basic concrete ramp and call it done. We took a different approach on this one in Overland Park.

Here's what made this job different. Before a single brick got laid, we formed and poured the concrete ramp with a pre-notched recess built right into it. That recess is purpose-built to receive the brick pavers at the correct finished height. It's not a workaround - it's the right way to do it. The concrete does the structural heavy lifting, and the brick sits exactly where it needs to be.

Once the concrete was cured and ready, we applied a dry-set concrete bed and carefully laid the brick pavers into place. Dry-set installation keeps everything tight, level, and locked in. The result is an entryway that's fully ADA-compliant without sacrificing the classic look of brick masonry.

Details matter on jobs like this. The pavers have to be uniform, the slope has to meet code, and the transition from ramp to surface has to be clean. None of that happens by accident. It takes a crew that knows both concrete work and hardscape installation - and knows how the two have to work together.

We work throughout Overland Park, Olathe, Leawood, and the broader Kansas City area. Whether it's an ADA ramp, a paver patio, or a custom concrete project, we bring the same level of care to every job.
