Here's what we were working with at the start - a driveway that had seen better days. Heavy cracking, settling, and surface deterioration across the entire slab. At that point, patching just doesn't cut it anymore. The concrete had run its course, and the only real fix was a full replacement.
We brought in the equipment and got to work breaking out and removing all the old concrete. Once the area was cleared, we focused on getting the base right. Grading and base prep are where a lot of contractors cut corners - and it's exactly why some driveways fail within a few years. We don't skip those steps.
After the base was properly prepared, we installed rebar reinforcement throughout the driveway before pouring. The rebar is what gives the slab its long-term strength. It holds everything together when the ground shifts or heavy loads bear down over time. That's the kind of detail that separates a driveway that lasts from one that doesn't.
The finished slab came out clean and smooth, with a sweeping curved edge that connects naturally to the garage and street. The homeowners now have a driveway they don't have to think about. No more cracks to trip on, no more embarrassment pulling into the driveway - just solid, reliable concrete built to last.
We handle concrete driveways, patios, sidewalks, retaining walls, and hardscape work throughout Overland Park, Leawood, Olathe, Stilwell, and the broader Kansas City area. If your driveway is starting to look like this one did before we got there, it might be time to talk about a replacement.
